Global alignment - one of our key goals
EUROMOT has been intensively involved in a number of international regulatory and standardisation efforts – including its activities at the IMO, CCNR, and EU standardisation efforts through the CEN and other bodies. This has included efforts to ensure that regulations are applied at the highest international levels.
It is essential to take into account the global nature of nonroad engine and equipment products. EUROMOT’s members rely on the harmonisation of various legislative measures in order to spread the cost of developing new products over the largest possible geographical market, due to the high development costs and relatively low production volumes.
To enable the cost-effective and rapid development of technologies and rapid penetration of the markets, we need to create economies of scale by developing and implementing internationally harmonised regulations. EUROMOT has come a long way toward achieving this goal, and supports common sets of requirements that have been implemented in the European Union, the United States, India, China, Japan and in other rapidly emerging economies such as Turkey, Brazil and Russia.
